I have lived and worked in Kenmare since 1988.  A self taught artist I reflect and am inspired by the landscape around me. The mountains, bogs and sea are the themes of the work. The momentum and colours in the paintings and ceramics reveal the everchanging countryside, weather and mood of the Southwest of Ireland. My background as a marine biologist gives me a special affinity with the shoreline which I explore in much of the work.

In my paintings I work mainly in oils but am also interested in creating large scale acrylic works exploring the changing light on the Beara peninsula. My ceramic work uses the form as a canvas and I work with glazes to recreate the landscape.

I sell my original work and my limited edition prints through the Purcell Gallery, which I established in 2009 to represent well known and emerging Irish Artists
